keyless entry problem

I have a 95z28

My keyless remote was lost and I'm trying to program another one.

according to instructions I've read in order to put the system into program mode I need to connect pin #4 and #8.

I have tried this but nothing happens.

Any ideas???

Check the receiver for connection and power.

Here's what the '96 owner's manual says (maybe it will work for your '95, but I'm not sure):

-Turn the ignition switch from the RUN position to the off position. This will disarm the Vehicle and Content Theft-Deterrent/Alarm System.

-Remove the RADIO fuse. This fuse is located in the main fuse block, located on the left side of your instrument panel.

-Turn the ignition switch from the OFF to the RUN position three times quickly (within five seconds.) The vehicle will respond by locking the doors, unlocking the driver's doors and releasing the hatch. Your transmitter is now ready to match your vehicle.

-Press and hold the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the transmitter for 15 seconds. The vehicle will respond as in step 3.

-When you have finished matching your transmitter, replace the RADIO fuse.

Re: keyless entry problem

I did this to my 96 Z28 and after, my ABS inop light came on and stays on. Any idea why and how do I turn it off. There is nothing wrong with the brakes. And it is not in the computer because I have a completly different computer and it is still on. I have heard that when programming the remote that it sometimes sends a low voltage to ABS or air bag light. How do I clear this? Sorry, didn't mean to steal the thread.

95s and 96s are different. Those instructions will not work. Programming for both can be found on my Tech Page.
