Just got tunercat where do i start???

Ok everyone this is what I've done or plan to do(insert you help here!), I've just gotten tunercat got the definition files I need, and downloaded a crap load of .lt1 and .bin files(as well as software to convert .lt1-.bin).

I am going to look over all the different files and compare them with what I've read from my stock program, consolidate the information and make a tune for my car, mods below/not many, is this the best course of action or is there a better way to start, if so where, and how do I learn?

Thanks for the help,

Tunercat can open either file, you just need to remember to save .LT1 files as .BIN, if you are going to program your PCM with it. This is because LT1 Edit and Tunercat store the T and M chip data backwards of each other.

Study the various tuner introduction guides out there.

thanks,
This is great information and it looks like it will be a while to take it all in, but I have one question after reading some of that.

Where do you find the PE tables in tunercat? or is that just info retrieved from the scan tool. Oh what is the best(cheap or free) scan tool out there?

%change to Fuel/Air Ratio vs coolant temp @ WOT
%change to Fuel/Air Ratio vs RPM @ WOT
