Just got MadZ tune, but.....

just recieved my madz28 tune , put it in, went to the track, then my opti went . now my engine light is coming on, used hypertech scanner and it's throwing distributor codes(obvious opti problem) but also, it's now showing "pcm memory"code. what does this code mean??

I would get a hold of the guys that did your computer. The opti, that might just be its time, or else a newly modified engine was to much for it.

If it's throwing and opti code, then it is your opti, as for the memory code, I have no idea why you are getting that. Do you have the code number?

code # P0601 from the hypertech powerscan(that's the pcm code)
other codes thrown: P0323, P0332, P0372

Hmmm....
so it was fine for a while (no codes) then you got this?
Did you try switching to your stock PCM to see if the codes are the same? I am suspecting a bad ground (provided it ran fine before), but if you also notice some driveability problems, then it may be the opti.

Re: Just got MadZ tune, but.....

the thing is, is that i got the tune, went to the track and was running slower than usual(no engine light was on, so i'm assuming no codes were being thrown). i'm sure it wasn't specifically due to the tune(thinking opti), because my buddy that got the same tune was running 2mph faster in the 1/4(just from the tune), we swapped our computers, and he was running same times and mph with his comp, and i was running the same crap as i was with mine. my car stalled a couple times and had rough idle on and off once i got the tuned comp, and i think that the opti just started going at that time, but nothing had to do w/ the tune. so who knows, i guess i'll just have to wait 'til next season to figure it out now that the car's going to sleep for the winter tomorrow. if anyone else has any opinions, i would be happy to hear them.
btw, thank you Ion, the tune you gave my buddy worked wonders (2mph in the 1/4), and i'm sure mine did the same, just can't tell all that much w/ a bad opti. just bad timing.

Re: Just got MadZ tune, but.....

Yep.... it definetely sounds like the opti. Nothing wrong with the tune if it ran fine in the other car.

Re: Just got MadZ tune, but.....

ok, here we go again, now the scan isn't showing opti spark codes, or the pcm memory code, now it's showing the following: P0200 ( injector control circuit ), P0332 ( knock sensor circuit low voltage bank 2 ), P1222 ( injector control circuit intermittent )

WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY CAR???

Re: Just got MadZ tune, but.....

Just a thought, I was getting a lot of weird codes, then came to find out the alternator was not giving enough voltage, which was confusing the hell out of the computer. Just a thought, check the voltage at the battery before starting and after to see where you are at.
