imposible diagnostic *MAF glitch*
Help help Help
Can not figure out this 2001 Z28 SS ProCharger dual intercooled 3psi nice headers 3.73 gears nology wires
log files available
-basically the car runs great
-but has what appears to be a MAF intermittent glitch.
-Seeing max MAF value spikes at idle and cruise intermittently.
-And max MAF value spikes fallowed by MAF dropout values, consistently at 5200RPM consistently.
When the MAF spikes the 44lb injectors go wide open, the spark drops to the bottem of the table and the plugs have to burn all the extra fuel off. Oh and it bucks or falls flat on its face.
what I have tried
-new stock maf
-new ported OEM MAF
-back to the Granitelli MAF
-rewired the MAF pigtail w/ solder and nice new wire
-ran a redundant ground on the MAF pigtail w/ solder and nice new wire
-resistance checked the MAF pigtail to PCM
-checked voltage at MAF from PCM
-checked ground from MAF pigtail to ground
-checked all fuses and relays and fuse and relay voltage
-charged the optima
-changed optima for normal battery
-put jumper cables from the battery to the positive terminal and ground
what I'm looking at now
-new battery cables (the current cables seemed semi cooked)
-some kind of wacky alternator EMI, voltage leakage or ripple issue
-very minor break in the MAF signal to PCM wire (yellow)
Any thoughts?

Chasing Ghost's HUH?
My spidey sences are tingling....
My money is on one of 2 things,
1) Arcing Plug Wires: (just because they are nice and new does not mean that they are not broken.) when it gets dark, turn out the lights and look for the light show.
2) ECM: Just swap it out! OBDII is OBDII (interms of F-Bodys anyway) Just try it. You might be surprised!
If that dont work, stick the Positive voltmeter prong in the MAF (right at the weather pack), and stick the Negative prong in the ECM (Right at the weather pack). Look for spikes in the wire. Then go from there.
Good Luck!

D$ and others
I guess I was not complete enough with my list
I also tried
-three different PCMS with differnt MAF scaling
-looked for any maf table glitches that would make a spike
-took all the Nology plug wires off and checked for open or too much resistance
-installed Nology recommended and supplied non-resistor plugs
-rerouted Nology rounds to a common ground
-installed redundant ground on plug wire common ground
Tonight I will check for "the lights show" after dark.
Also the new battery cables just went on, gonna take it for a spin.
