i'm scared :(

well, my 355 LT1 is almost ready (just waiting on the rocker

arms)...but i'm already dredding the tuning time. it wouldnt be so

bad if i knew anything about tuning a motor, but i dont know

anything about that. is there someone in town (i go to UTA and

work in fort worth) who can tune my

motor for a reasonable price? or do you guys think that i should

just mail it to pcmforless? i was thinking of buying LT1edit, i'm really not up for the hassle of spending a butt-load of time trying to understand what i'm supposed to do.

i'm not planning on changing the programming everyday...if

anything, when my car is tuned, i wouldnt really need anything

else...in other words, this is a one time tune because everything i wanted to put on the car is here (except for the rocker arms).

also, since the motor isnt in the car yet, do you guys think i

should tune it BEFORE or AFTER i put it in there...which would be easier?

thanks in advance,

shokor

If you did decide to buy LT1 edit, you might call Arlington Motorsports AMS. I believe Chris Marsh does tuning for them and has had pretty good success w/LT1 and LS1 edit. Atleast call them prior to buying it and figure the cost of his tuning. I figure though you could get a mail order chip cheaper than buying software, and paying for tuning services+dyno time. Worth looking into though.

actually, i decided to go the pcmforless.com route. $95 for the cable and $50 for the tuning. i might get the unlimited upgrades...$25 extra. but i figure it's cheaper than doing the LT1 edit thing...that's just too time consuming. i'd rather have someone who knows what he's doing, modify the tune.

arlington motorsports, eh? hmm, i was looking for a local dyno shop, i'll probably go to them my car dynoed over there.

thanks for the info
