If coverting to OBD1 from OBD2....
If converting to OBD1 from OBD2 what about the OBD2 knock sensor and crank sensor do you have to change them?

You change the PCM and the knock sensor in the block. The PCM will/should come with an OBDI knock module already installed. Thats really all there is to it.
But with you A4 and 2800 stall, you're likely to get the evil 3rd gear slip.

But what about the OBD2 crank sensor will the OBD1 pick that up, or ingore it?
P.S.Thanks!

I understand some of the reasoning behind converting over to obd1 with the ease of programming and the forgiving nature of these computers but have you heard of the problems that these computers have had with hard launches when using stall converters with stall speeds of 2800 and higher? Please take that into consideration before you make that change. For more info on this problem check out the post on this very subject somewhere in the first page.

I did the change. Depends on where you get the computer from. If you use your stock Knock sensor(96-97, you need to add a resistor in the PCM. If you change the Knock sensor to a 94-95 one the PCM will work fine. The Crank Trigger wires and rear O2 sensor wire just go "Dead". Everything works fine. Where are you getting your computer?

I think I learned some new swear words getting over this "High Stall" problem & OBD1
