I read my pcm and now it will not start/ tunercat
I read my pcm and when it was done it something like it did not read it , but when I looked in my files there was a flash bin read , there it was , so every thing looked ok ( was just checking kinda forgot what I changed last time ) so I went to start it up , no start , tryed it 3 or 4 times waited a few min still no start, so I thought that I would try to reprogram it then it says no comm with the pcm , pcm program aborted, so I had to try somthing , unhooked the ground cable to the batt for a few min then after a few tries it started , why did it do this ? and I just read a post saying that it is best to run TC in dos, how do I do that? or should I download tc again , I have ver 2.00?
I thought there was something about not reading it AFTER you flash it. Run the car first then read.
I have had great success just using the win program. But you can probably email TC for the old Dos program.

I had the exact same thing happen to me with the win version awhile back. It basically wasn't turning on the fuel pump, and thats why it wasn't starting. Unhooking the battery resets it and it starts again fine. Not sure why it does this. I was only reading not flashing at all.
It causes the PCM to "freeze" up sometimes, it's nothing serious, either pulling the battery cable or pulling the PCM fuse will correct it. You can't damage a PCM by reading it, you can only damage a PCM by programming it. It doesn't happen very often, but it can be kinda scary the first time it does.
ok but when I program it ( well last time I did)it said that some kind of error and that the programm had been aborted( but the pcm took the program) then someone told me that my pcm was fried. but it was'nt the car still runs. I just want to be able to read and program my pcm.
