Hypertech programmer III question?

ok this guy has a hypertech power programmer III for sale , but its for a 97 trans am lt1, will it work on my 96 trans am lt1 as well? and also whats the use for it or what can u do with it?

Don't waste your money, it's basically useless. It pretty much does nothing to your tune, only allowing you to change the speedometer calibration and remove the speed limiter. If you want a real tune, get a mail order from PCMforless, MadZ28, or another mail order tuner. If you need a serious tune due to major engine modification, get a dyno tune.

I found one for cheap, but you say useless? i already have a mad z28 tune but that was before LT headers, RRs, and a few other mods. I mainly just want it to change my fan kickon temp and read SES codes. worth getting for 50$??

If it will also scan, then it might be worth it. But, it is not going to be much use for the other mods you did after the MadZ tune.
