Programming must be returned to stock on whatever vehicle it was used on before can be used on another. Most people find the "power" programming on the Hypertech fairly useless.

The only way you will see any gains is to install a 160* T'stat and use the programmer to lower the fan on/off temps. Other than that, the "power program" has actually been shown on a dyno to lose HP. You can get a mail order tune that will pick up 10-15HP on a totally stock engine. That's a much better investment than a used Hypertech.

If the preveious owner did not reset his PCM to "stock", the Hypertech won't work on your car. But it is possible to unlock the programmer. Send me a PM if interested and I can give you the info. He charges for the work.

The hypertech is a definite waste! When I bought my car it came with one and I could never get it to communicate with the PCM! I just threw it in the trash and ordered TunerCat and a cable and have been tuning with a laptop ever since.

Don't waste your money on one, mail order tune is much cheaper and u will see more gains!
