I recently sold a Hypertech and I put my ECU back to stock and sent it to the guy. He said the VIN # from my car was till locked in there. How do you clear the Hypertech so that it can be used on another car? Thanks

 

If you returned it to stock as per www.hypertech.com/pp3pg10.html it should work on his car as long as it's the same model/year. I sold one without any problems. I guess you could have it sent back to you to make sure. What did the programmer say exactly when he plugged it in?

 

He told me that it said my vin # was still locked in it. but I did set it back to stock. So I think maybe he is not telling the truth or something. He said he wanted me to return his money and he would send it back but maybe he programmed his car and is trying to get his money back and send back a HPP to me that won't work.

 

Tell him to give you your VIN NUMBER. If the VIN matches your vin then hes telling the truth but if It's not then hes busted. - Thats how you can tell if hes telling the truth or not- mike

 

Well he already sent it back and it said I did have programming still installed even though I had set it back to stock. I think what happened was that my battery had died when I was unprogramming it last time. So now I have to do it again and ship it back out to him.
