how will car run with no coolant temp sensor?

broke the wire off the clip and im going to try to solder it back on but untill then I was wondering how my car will run, I know the engine bases ignition timing and afr off of coolant temp and the fans wouldnt not turn on at stoplights but would it not run very well at all and be worth letting it sit for a while till its fixed or just go drive it around and dont worry about it except at stoplights.....?

When a Temp Sensor is broken the pc reads the temp as -40 deg.
It will run extremely rich and will run very rough. I had fuel dripping from the exhaust when I broke mine. I was lucky enough to do it when the dealership was still open. I don't think I would run it very long like that.

Sorry it took so long for a response.
I don't know man....seems like your playing with fire.

I would just take the time to fix the wire and be done with it.

I used a soldering Iron to attach to wire leads to a brand new temp sensor. You could do the same and drive it like that untill you get another clip on plug to install in your sensor.

I do not recomend to drive it without temp sensor... the added fuel will wash off the thin oil lubrication on your cylinder walls and they will wear at an accelerated rate... not a pretty picture.

you may also plug your cats with carbon deposites as they will not get hot enough to burn your extra fuel...
