Re: how much knock from RR's?

seriously...

i just swapped the entire valvetrain, i had blown up 3 stock rockers, one lifter and dropped a pushrod. so i installed 1.6 pro mags, gmpp guideplates, cc. hardened pushrods, and summit lifters, soaked the lifters for a week. set vavle lash 1/8 turn past zero lash one at a time. (btw 230/236-110 cam)

started it up and rpm's spiked to 3k, tapered off and stalled. started again i did the same, this time i feathered the pedal to keep it running, it settled at a 500rpm idle. now and again from no where it would spike the rpms up around 3k again. once it hit open loop it seemed to calm down and up the idle some. didn't get a chance to run it much past that. gonna try again today.

on the good side i didn't see any retard from high knock levels.

just wondering what could have caused it to run like this...
