How to get LT1 computer to work after accident
Hey guys. My ho x-gf wrote off my LT1 a few months back, hit a curb, airbags deployed, oil pan got crunched, K-member went back 5", etc. Anyway, since the bags came out, the car would not longer start (or try to start). I figure the PCM has it dissabled, right?
So, I am about to start taking appart the car, I think the motor and trans might still be ok. I have a third gen car I would like to put this powertrain into, but would like to check it and make sure everything is ok with the computer and that before I take it appart. I DO have tunercat and the AMK cable, and have reprogrammed it myself before. SO, what do I have to do to see if the motor/computer still work. DO I have to download the current programming and check for fault codes, then reset or dissable the airbags and see if it'll work then?
Also, I heard that painless makes a wiring harness to bolt in a LT1 motor into a third gen. Is this true? If so, my car was a tbi 305, its not a carburated 350, but would like to go to an LT1. Thanks a lot guys.
