How do I use freescan properly?

Guys, gonna scann my car here in a bit. How do I do this? Start the car, drive it, etc...???

Will freescan show any error codes that I'm getting? Is there a FAQ sheet on this software?

Connect the cable to the ALDL and serial port, start the car, and then start Freescan communicating with the car. You'll probably have to use the Force Data setting, just having it scan won't work, the PC needs to be interacting with the PCM for it to read any data. Log the data, go drive around. I usually log my drives every day to and from work. The Trouble Codes will display in the Trouble Codes tab. If you have a Haynes manual, you can look up all the codes, or a couple websites on the web have them all (don't know which ones, someone around here does though).
