How to desensitize knock sensor in tunercat ?
How to desensitize knock sensor in tunercat ?
Is there an adjustable table in Tunercats to adjust how much noise is permitable before pulling timing? I had an LT4 knock module on back order for 3 months, turns out its discontinued
Basically, I have LT headers and 1.6 roller rockers and I know the current sensor is pulling timing from the noise. Any help is appreciated.

Look like GMPP and Summit have them back ordered till 3/22, GM Parts Direct site implies it's available. Try a search on the part number '16214681' . In answer to your question there is no table in TC to de-sensitize the knock sensor. Have you proved the knock is false by knocking down your timing at the problem RPM range(s). I had a consistent retard at 42-4500 RPM range after my cam and RR install that stayed there even with timing reduced 12* on the tables, put in LT4 KM and problem was cleared. Also heard some old tales about wrapping two layers of Teflon tape around the knock sensor threads and putting it back in just enough to keep it snug. However if you have real knock that's a good way to blow a hole in a piston or two..
I ordered my LT4 KM from summit in mid december and kept recieving letters about it being further pushed out. I had enough of that and decided to call them and the guy told me it may never come off BO because its discontinued. I pulled 10 degress of timing and still showed the same results on the logger. I just want to make sure its showing GUARANTEED knock because the blower is now installed and I don't want it telling me its knocking when it isn't.
I remember having what I thought was false knock. I thought it might had been the blower noise because it makes a loud growl noise. Tryed everthing to get rid of it. LT4 knock modul, race gas, lowering timing, decensitizing the knock sensors. Till one day it took care of itself. Baammm! Hole threw the piston and scorched one of my heads. Very expensive lesson if your not planing on a rebuild. I don't know how much boost your running or your CR but I would make sure it's false and or correct the problem if you don't want to rebuild.
What sort of logger/scanner are you using to see the knock?
When you see the knock if you stay in the throttle does the knock count continue to rise? Or does the knock retard begin to come back to zero by the time you shift? There are things you can do and still keep the knock sensor active but make the effects of knock retard less noticeable and less aggressive. That way your'e still playing it safe but probably trading at least a bit of power to get there. There are also things you can do like enabling pe at a lower throttle setting and making the low rpm pe table fat fat to help with 'burst knock'.
