How can I completely remove VATS???

I just bought a 1996 Z28 from a fellow board member who has installed an aftermarket alarm system in the vehicle. Everything on the car runs great except when starting it takes quite a few extra cranks before it finally fires up. I put it on a scanner an pulled code 1626 Anti-theft system: Fuel enable circuit. Is there a way I can delete this completely out of the PCM or is there some relay that I have to wire around? Thanks!

It's easy with Tunercat. It's just a check box to disable VATS then reflash the pcm and your good. Then again you need to swap out the pcm for a 94-95 for Tunercat. You can do the same with the 96 pcm but must use the LT1edit program which is like $500 bucks. Tunercats only like $80.

From what i have read the light stays on, but the fuel shutoff part of the vats is disabled.
