hotcam idle problems

I have a 94 Z28, recent engine rebuild, hotcam, ported heads.......

Once car goes into closed loop idle, BLM start to drop all the way down to 108 and the car idles like crap. O2 signals are are down low around 0xx to 1xx. Vacuum is steady around 33-35 Kpa.

HELP!!!!

have you had the car tuned since the cam? Probably need to play with the VE tables and add some fuel in the idle regions. just my $.02

Re: hotcam idle problems

ST and LT counts count down to 108 and O2 mV hover around 100. lean, lean, lean, and can not compensate for it. I went ahead and added the timing cause most ppl say it idles better there.

I do have the WOT money! thing pulls hard. Want to get driveability down, then will go to the track to finish out the WOT tuning.

that could do it! Never heard about the timing bit, maybe i'll try it on mine (thanks for the tip). Hope the MAF tables solve it, good luck

Re: hotcam idle problems

well, MAF wasn't ported, misunderstanding.

So, I have taken fuel out of the VE table in the corresponding cells. The were at 47, and i have worked them down to 33. I basically just dropped the onces closest to where the car idles, and smoothed out the curve with the surrounding cells.

now, blm's were at 108, now up to 110-112 or so, How much fuel should i have to take out to get this thing to idle decent???????

Re: hotcam idle problems

What is a normal VE table for a Hotcam look like, any one have one handy?

Mainly looking for idle ranges

What is an average amount of fuel yall are having to take out to get the idle nice?
