help, blown something!?

hey guys, took my car to the shop the other day to have them check out my window switch since my drivers side window wouldnt go up, so the guys like well we dont have a switch in today, but for now we will just jump it and get it up for you, so im like, ok great, so the guy trys jumping these wires and he screwed it all up, now the window on the other side wont do anything and my CD player dosent turn on or anything, then the owner came out and basically told me to fix it myself, so here i am, now i used a bulb tester to see if the car was pushing power to the fuses for the power window and the sterio, i put the key in ACC and clipped the alligator thing to a ground and checked to see if the one side of the fuse was HOT, but neither were!!!, so it must be something further back, im not that smart about electrical, but does anyone have any ideas? the wires he was messing with was just the window switch wires.... thanks for the help in advance!! - Matt

sounds like what ever he did caused it to blow a fuse. Check the fuses next to the dash as well as under the hood

Re: help, blown something!?

well i checked all the fuses and stuff, but what im saying is the car isnt even pushing power to those fuses in the fuse box at all!, the window fuse and the sterio fuse, so basically the big thing is where do those wires come from before they get to the fuse box in the dash? cuz i think i should just keep tracing it back to the battery and eventually ill find the break, but idk where the wires go and come from, any ideas? the wiring diagrams in my manual arent very helpful either!, lol, thanks in advance guys! -Matt

Check your fusible links. they are up by your battery on a 93-97 car.
