help............

My 95 Z28 died today when i had to slam on my breaks to stop before hittin someone.........naturally it bein a 6 speed i dumped the clutch........ my battery was low anyways and for the last month its been slow to start.......well when i killed it the battery was totally gone.........it would barely light the flashers up.......luckily i did all this in front of a car dealer ship.......ok a ford dealership........i will give them credit after drivin by me 5 times in there golf cart and me yellin out my window ....are you gonna ***in help me or not.....they finally came over.....pushed me outta traffic and went to get a jumper........after sittin for a sec with the charger on it cranked right up but OMG there was a loud ticking........not knockin for i know what that is i have thrown a rod before but more of a lifter , rocker arm tick......which by the way i had to have a rocker arm replaced 2 weeks ago ago cause it broke......and the lifters were adjusted..........well my question is after i let it sit a sec and gave it gas the loud tick went away ........i was wonderin since the batter was dead!!! would the computer have to reset and cause it to miss and make that noise ..........i had the oil changed 2 weeks ago and i just went and check and it may be a quart low........ i know some bout my car bein a girl and all but i hate to take it in again and the guys who work on it take advantage of me........HELP!!!!

Take it to autozone and have them hook up their diagnostic computer and see if your alternator is working properly. It's free.
