Having trouble uploading tune to PCM

Here's my situation:

I recently upgraded to the e-mail tuning package from MadZ28 and ordered the ALDL cable for OBD1 PCMs with the OBD2 connection. My PCM is an OBD1 PCM.

I have used my laptop to run freescan and it works fine. It connects, monitors, and has no issues whatsoever.

Now when I'm trying to use WinFlash to save my existing tune (and also to test to make sure the connection is stable enough to upload a new tune), I keep getting "Invalid PCM response" when trying to read the tune. It establishes the connection fine, the fans spin up, and then attempts to read, only to error out seconds later. Sometimes it will get as far as maybe 15% into the read.

I've tried this with both my laptop and even a desktop PC that I dragged down to the garage. With the laptop, I'm using the Belkin F5U103 adapter. I connected it directly to the desktop's serial port. Both did the exact same thing.

I'm a computer tech and I know for a fact that neither my laptop nor desktop have any software or hardware issues. Both are able to use the COM ports with no problems. I even ran the hyperterminal tests and both passed.

All of this leads me to believe it is an issue with my PCM in my car. If it was a bad PCM, wouldn't it throw some sort of code? How can I get this figured out?

Yeah, the only time I get that message is when the pcm is done or you have a wiring problem between you aldl connector and you pcm

It wouldnt necessarily thorw a code. I scanned mine with datamaster and no codes at all ...right before I dumped a 1/2 cup of water out of it

I checked my PCM and there's no moisture whatsoever. Engine bay stays pretty dry for the most part. I guess I'm going to send it in to Ion and have him take a stab at tuning it. I don't want to try to upload a tune and have it fail, leaving me with a $150 paper weight.

Yeah that wouldn't be a bad idea. I had a spare that I flash the wrong stuff into and now I have to send it off as well. If you have a Haynes manual or I think even shoebox has it on his website, you could do a continuity check on the wires from the ALDL to the appropriate pcm connector and make sure you wiring is fine

Superchargers are a bolt on right?? I mean after all they bolt on
