Got alot of in-depth q's about tuning
This is my first question.
Well I want to get my air and egr removed to get some of the clutter out of the way. Here are the questions
1) Will the !air set a code or not? (know the egr does)
2) I know that i can get the egr code tuned out, now does this tune out the error code for no egr or does this remove the whole egr. My reason for asking is if its just an error code that is deleted, couldnt you plug your egr back in for emissions and it work? Or will it completly remove what the computer needs to run it at all?
3) Would it be possible to have two different pcm's? Like if i actually got ahold of another one and kept it stock tune, then got another one and had it played with. That away I could go in and pass emissions with the stock one then plug back in the tuned one?
4) I recently put on headers and 3-inch duals. I dynoed less then I was hoping and thought maybe its cause the computer needs to be tuned to the backpressure, because I am sure that it lost alot. When I dynoed I had a pretty flat a/f ratio (12.8) across the board. What can be done to gain more power in tuning if my a/f ratios are relitively alright? (dyno graph in "My car" link in sig)
Thanks

I have no idea on the first two questions, I've never dug into to the ls1 computer, but on the last two, I don't see why you couldn't have two computers that you can swap out, but to pass emissions you would have to have the air and egr back on the car. As for tuning you might get a little more power 5-10 hp but it would depend on how well the factory computer has taken to the headers. I also don't think that it dyno'd that bad, it could have been the day if it was hot and humid and maybe the dyno, do you know what brand of dyno that was? Was your stock dyno bone stock down to the filter, or did it have a few parts on it?
