Is this a Good Deal on a Dyno Tune?

I have starting looking into my options for a tune after my engine build. I found a local performance shop had runs HP tuners software and will tune my car for $130 plus $150/hr on the dyno. He also said the average time for a lt1/ls1 tune was about 2 hours on the dyno. So approx. $430 for a tune.

What do guys think. Any feeling on the HP tuners software or the price. Thanks.

That sounds about what they charge around here. Maybe a little more since they don't do too many LT motors at Futral. What kind of shop is it and do they guarantee their tunes?

Sounds pretty normal price-wise. Find someone with a modded LT1 that had their car tuned there and see if they're happy with it.

It is a performance shop. They do mostly imports though...however about this time last year I got my trans rebuild there with a shift kit and stall. They seem to do good work. They have a good reput around here...but they are also known for being a little pricey and slow.

The main thing I am worried about they didnt have the software this time last year. They said they have done "quite a few lt1/ls1" but I dont know how many is "quite a few".

The price is up to par on what you would normally spend, but I would investigate the company a little further before putting down your hard earned money.
