Getting a ODBI PCM to work on a OBDII car?
Getting a ODBI PCM to work on a OBDII car?
I have LT1 edit and the PCM, but what is needed to get it to work on my 97 OBDII car? Does AKMcables.com have all the cables that I need?
thanks

AKM has the cable you need. The PCM plugs right in but you need to either swap knock sensors to a '95 sensor, or solder a 3.9 kohm resistor between a couple of pins in the OBD1 processor so it reads the '97 knock sensor correctly.

It isn't whether it's an LT1 or LT4 knock sensor, it's the year. '96 and '97 sensors had a different resistance than the earlier sensors. The PCM needs to see a certain resistance from the sensor. I suspect you're confusing the knock module with the knock sensor. The PCM works fine with the LT4 knock module, you just need to either replace the sensor or wire the PCM to use the earlier computer.
