Fried my PCM - Repair options

Well I've managed to kill my PCM in my 94 z28. Is there anyone still repairing these or am I stuck with getting a salvage yard unit?

Re: Fried my PCM - Repair options

Fixed my own problem. Went to the local u pull it and got a PCM from a 94 caprice. Flashed it and uploaded my tune. Done. Looks like my old PCM was giving me problems for a while throwing codes every once in a while. Ebony is running as good as ever now.

What scanner were you using on the old PCM? Hopefully not an Innova 1320, which routinely produces a list of 8 bogus codes, including DTC 51 for the EEPROM.

Re: Fried my PCM - Repair options

I was using my Scanmaster LT1 scanner. I'd get random codes every once in a while including DTC 51. I'd pull the PCM fuse to reset it and see what would happen. The codes wouldn't come back for a few weeks or even months.
