Freescan work with USB?

Does freescan work with a USB cable? I know it works with the normal cable, because I took my desktop outside to see if it would work, but one of my friends has a laptop that only has usb ports so we tried to use his laptop to log some runs in my car and it wouldn't read. Any suggestions?

Yes it would work. Just have to set up the ports.

Yep, I've got Freescan to work with my AKM USB ALDL cable and was able to scan, etc. Freescan (among other things) allows you to temporarily change target idle speed - I did NOT get it to do this, but it would scan and log. I use TTS Datamaster myself.

Something about the freescan idle settings vs tunercats. My idle is set to 975 with tunercats but reads that its set at 600 with freescan.
