I did not had a problem intalling the cable software or freescan. I have used Freescan several times with my Vista Basic computer with no problems. There is a compatibility function that Vista uses but it is confusing sometimes on how to use it, but I did not have to go that route with Freescan. I had to use compatibility mode for Tunercat though.

If I remember correctly I just put the disk that came with the cable in and went through the installation steps on the sheet Andrew sent with it. I downloaded and intalled Freescan from the website and installed it. If I remember any different I will post back.

When i was trying out vista i loaded some scanning software and the only way i can get it to run was to execute it in winows xp compatability mode. At that time vista just wasnt a suitable OS for me so i ended up going back to XP. Here is a link to some directions http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windo...tibility-mode/
You could also run XP in a VM inside of windows vista.

Go to the start icon on the bottom left hand of the screen and click it, select help and support. Once the help screen pops up type compatibility in the seach function. You should get many options, one being compatibility wizard (it was at the top of the selections for my computer). Run the wizard and it can show you all of the programs that have the option for the compatibility. You should choose the software from the list and follow the steps.

I have been messing with this all afternoon trying to get my computer to work with the wireless internet at school. NO LUCK! But it worked for Tunercat. Good luck.
