FreeScan Question

I keep seeing people say if the light goes off the code will still be able to be retrieved, However my light was on then went off and I just recently tried to scan it and I couldnt pull up any trouble codes, until the light came on again. If you turn the car off do the codes leave the system? By the way it was Code 36: High-Res failure.

Re: FreeScan Question

I don't count on freescan catching codes. pcmcomm is a good program for that. And no, your codes will not erase by turning the ignition off. They will after a certain number of times if the code isn't set again though.

Re: FreeScan Question

make sure that your key is on the "on" position before scanning... Free Scan will retrieve codes even if the light goes off unless the code has been cleared.
