Freescan, Datamaster, Tunercat.....

K all I just got my stroker in and got about 350mi. on it now. Went off without a hitch, except for 1 burnt wire and a heater core removal.

Anyway, I got the ODB1 conversion and the cable from AKM. Gonna use my ol laptop just for my car. That's it! Dunno where to go from here. I know I can download Freescan and Datamaster but is there directions with it? Do I just go and download it and try it?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

You are aware that Freescan and DataMaster are simply data logging programs, while Tunercat and LT1_Edit are programming tools?

You need one scan tool, and one programming system. LT1_Edit comes with a bundled scan software.

For interpreting scan data, I think you'll find my online guide is fairly decent.

Fred's being modest; his online guide is great. I've read all of it a couple of times so far. Maybe it'll sink in the third time around.

Is there a big difference as far as use and what can be changed between LT1edit and Tunercat? Just want to see what most people prefer.

I too will be getting the OBD1 conversion soon.
