well, i finally found a convertor for my laptop that will work with tunercat.

ran out and read my pcm, worked like a charm! that belkin wouldn't do it, but this one works great.

i bought the moates setup just to be sure that it works all the time. the ones like you have have worked for some and then sometimes they fry ecu's

Try a PCMCIA serial adapter. I just got a "Silicom Dual Serial" adapter on ebay for $20ish new in the box, some guy is unloading a crapload of them (and there are many other similar cards), has a pair of serial dongles that plug into the PCMCIA card, don't know about tunercat directly but it works w/ Datamaster and my AKM cable just fine.

 

so does my convertor, i think he's full of bs, i did a search and all the fried computers said nothing about a usb convertor, if you can't back it up don't spread rumors..
