Question Flow rate

I have a 93 Z28 with the factory 22# injectors. I am running a 6# SC and would like to richen up the AFR. Could I accomplish this by programming the flow rate for smaller injectors? Let’s say 21.5. The theory behind this is the ECM would open the fuel injector for a longer period of time. Has any one done this?

Also I know I’ve seen Flow Rate charts posted here before; however I’m having a hard time finding them. Can some one please post a link to one too?

Thanks,
Dennis

If I were you I would upgrade thoses stock GM 22# injectors to atleast some 24# SVO injectors or bigger. Be aware that changing your injector constant affects your entire fuel map. So, if your running rich at certain rpms and lean in others you'll end up making things worst. The computer can only adjust up to 108 BLM (rich) and 160 BLM (lean) if you tweak your injector constant too much you'll exceed the boundaries and the computer can no longer compensate for the correct A/F ratio. The best thing to do is to adjust the injector constant so that majority of your BLM's are as close to 128. Then fine tune your VE tables so you can be in the range of 124-128. Its probably best to shoot for 124 cause its probably safer to be a little bit rich then lean.

Btw- I hope your using some kind of scanning/logging tool to aid in your tuning. Cause there is no way in hell you can tuning will out looking at your logs.

Thanks again for the info Wilson. So I should only do this if I wanted to richen it up thru out the entire RPM band, right?

I probably will upgrade to 30# SVOs. Changing the fuel constancies would only be a temp fix. If I even do it.

Anyone out there have a link to a flow chart?

Yes. But watch your BLM's and dont over do it or the computer will not be able to compensate for the adjustment.
