FAST computer guys. In please

What ignition system is best. I have a 6BTM. Should I keep that? Or is that not the right box for a FAST?

Thanks

You should be able to add the 2-bar map sensor, and modify the tables accordingly, without the need for a btm, which slows them down at low boost levels. The btm works in a linear fashion, retarding timing proportionate to boost, when the demand for retard is not the same. Using a btm effectively would require you to run the timing high at 0" vacuum to alleviate the loss of power on low boost retard. All vehicle are ultimately quicker and smoother with the tuning entirely in the programming, without devices like btm's.

You do not need to run the MSD 6BTM with the Fast System. I have my BTM hooked up with my Fast system but that is because I have been too lazy to take it off my car

Jim thanks for the great response.
The fundamental question then, do I just keep the BTM dialled into zero? Do I NEED an ignition box? and I assume I do, and finally, should I sell the BTM and get a replacement or just keep the BTM?

I'd keep the unit, if it has the cap ignition built in. If the btm is a separate box, I'd sell it. The hotter ignition you still need. As far as possibly using the btm, it's a great oh-shoot feature, where you can back off the boost timing in an emergency situation-not bad to have as a backup.
