Fan settings?

i'm trying to get my fans to kick on at 190 and 205..

i dont think i'm doing it correct..

could somebody help me out..

i'm running a 160degree thermostat..

with the settings i have now (picture below).. just running down the road at 55mph car runs at around 185 to 190 degrees, in this hot weather...
but when i come to a stop, and sit for a minute or 2or 3, on the guage it gets up close to the red, on freescan monitoring it only shows it going up to around 200...

so my next question is, is freescan and tunerproRT getting the temp readings from the radiator, or the temp sensor in the waterpump?

i enclosed a screenshot of my settings in tunerproRT

The only place the computer gets temp info is from the sensor in the water pump. If your gauge and computer don't agree on the temp, one of them is wrong (probably the gauge).

The sensor in the waterpump is what the PCM uses, which in turn will control the fans. The other sensor is just for the gauge. The gauge itself isn't very accurate.

i'm thinking the gauge is wrong because the previous owner put one of the white gauge stickers on the cluster...

so looking at my settings, are they ok or do i need to do it differently?

I think both your fan 2 settings should agree (both 90.50) and not be the same as fan 1.

That goes to the dashboard gauge.

believe i found my problem...

i'll explain..
i got this car very cheap, traded a set of wheels for it, it had a blown engine in it... i started putting a build together buying parts here and there... then a friend of mine called wanting to sell a stock pullout 66kmile engine, intake to oilpan for $300 so i bought it..
at this time i had been out of the hospital about a month or 2 and i was weak from the extended stay and unable to put the engine in myself.. i hired a friend of mine that was currently out of work to install the engine, torque converter and change the tranny filter and fluid...
well he did everything pretty much spot on, car fired right up, ran like a top. plus it was cheap.
i'm basicly trying to line it out to be an everyday driver with some cheap mods, to keep miles of my 04 dodge truck that i paid it off late last year and i dont want to buy another new vehicle...plus i've always wanted to mess with an lt1 engine, and i love the looks and aerodynamics of the lt1 camaros..

So,every since i got the camaro running the temperature would spike up like the thermostat was sticking, and you could put it in neutral and rev it then it would drop back down, initially i thought waterpump, changed in a new delco unit (probably needed it anyways), then i logged a few runs, and thats when i noticed the temperature in both freescan and tunerpro was 212-220 consistently, and my guage was getting near the red, but my fans were programmed to come on at 185 and 200 so it shouldnt even come close to that... then i replaced the cheap advanced auto 160 thermostat with a hypertech 160 thermostat,
still no difference..

well, today i checked over my hose routing and found my problem, the friend that installed the engine had the steampipe hose running to the driver side radiator hose that has the Yin it, and he had a hose ran from where the steampipe was suppose to go to the T in the heater hose were the bleeder screw is...
i spent a 30-45 minutes swapping, trimming, and plugging hoses, replaced the spring clamps with hose clamps..

well it was 100degrees here today with a heat index of 105-108.. i filled the radiator, bled it, i ran the car for about 30 minutes in the driveway, brought it up to temp, topped the radiator off.. it stayed steady at about 185degrees and fans were working correctly.. after it got up to temp and stayed there steady, i took it out for a spin and simulated in town, stoplight to stoplight driving and the temp gauge never went over the 200deg. mark, actually stayed under it, probably about 190-195degrees..

so time to play with the program some more...
