False knock?

Okay ever since I have had my lt1 in it had shown false knock pretty well as soon as I start the car the knock count goes up. I see like 60,000 knock sometimes. Last year I just had knock retard Zero'd out.

Now that I am turbo I would like to try to log the knock to be safe.

What should I do to find the false knock? Would it pick it up throught my rockers since I have aluminum valve covers?

There are a few burst knock tables. Turn your knock sensor on and check the datalog for the parameters that the burst knock tables coincide with. massaging the burst knock tables may fix your knock.

Its completely normal for the knock count to increment up several thousand counts on startup. It will also increment at other times, but will not cause knock retard unless there has been a recent knock retard event triggered by the knock sensor. The fact that the knock count reads 60,000 means nothing. Its a field that starts at "0" and increases over time to the max value for the field (64,000?) and then resets itself to "0" and starts over again. Its the rate it which its incrementing that is important, not the actual number.
