? on F.A.S.T. system
Re: ? on F.A.S.T. system
I have a B to B system on a N/A engine that I run nitrous on. I run a dry shot up to 175 hp. I like the systen allot.
I think the F.A.S.T. system would be the way to go. The advantages over a stock ecu are:
1) no more chips to burn.
2) data log and lay the log over the ve table to tune.
3) make engine changes and you have everything you need there to tune your car.
4) Customize you timing advance or retard if you are boosted or run nitrous.
5) control when your electric fans come on and shut down.
6) cold crank adjustment
8) idle speed adjust
9)Nitrous activation and fuel add adjustments for the injectors.
Now you might get by with a stock ecu. But every change you make to your engine changes the tune. Somebody will say you can get all the stuff to tune your stock ecu too. You spend it now for fast or spend it later trying to get a chip right.

Re: ? on F.A.S.T. system
None of the ECU's are super easy to tune, for a beginner. But I don't have any experience with LS1 edit.. I imagine it is basically the same as my DFI. I finally after trial and error have a good setup on mine (Gen 6), I just have to fine tune the start enrichment to get it to crank up a little better. And I am having some issues with the IAC motor, I think it is wired wrong but I need to put the meter on it to verify.
But the best way to do it is for two people to ride around and dial it in.
50 psi all the time seems a bit much, most systems are designed around 43.5 at WOT stock. Mine sees a little over 50 under boost, the rest of the time it follows the stock settings.

As already mentioned the gen7 will highlight the cells traveled through the fuel map, timing map,and a/f table for wideband in the a/f analysis..
side note on the 50 psi..may seem high, but its ideally the fuel pressure you'd want to run since you get a much better spray pattern from the injector.

Re: ? on F.A.S.T. system
I'm not going to even try! My passanger had gen 6 in his procharged f-body ... he said it would take a month straight of tuning to do what we did in less than an hour with the speed pro.

Slumei, I reread your mods and I think I know where you have been getting your work done.
You might want to research getting either:
Fast bank/bank
Gen7
Big Stuff 3
It will take someone a few hours to get the car running right... there is a lot to do...
-cold start
-idle
-part throttle
-wot
-decel
I would say we have five hours into mine, and it runs like stock. And it's been down the track three times.
Some of the tricky stuff is the transition from cruising to WOT... that takes TIME. I can't tell if Eddie is joking around but you will spend 3-5 hours tuning the car.
I have one of the only running FAST LS1 standalone setups in the country and if you have any questions just email me or check out my site: www.ls1tech.com

You may also have an "overlay" button on your VE screen that will do the same thing.
