Question Extreme fuel trims

I installed a substantial cam in my car (cc306). I'm starting to do some data logging. I'm noticing quite a bit of knock. Especially after 4-5krpm. I also noticed the BLM and INT learns were WAY LEANING down the fuel.

Is it possible if I'm running too rich, that the engine could ping and thus register knock?

Thanks for the help!

Question Re: Extreme fuel trims

Ok when I'm experiencing knock at lower RPM (ex 3k and below) my BLM's are at 108. The upper RPM (4k and above) it's knocking with BLM's at 128. I don't believe it's had much of a chance to learn the trims yet though as I don't do too much cruising at 4k and above.

I've got a spread sheet with the data in it. Thanks for your help!!!!

Re: Extreme fuel trims

When running too rich the KS does register knock, my understanding is that when you run way too rich the engine starts to lug & vibrate a little which the KS might be picking up as false knock, I've tried this especially in open loop, o2s would read 950mv at cruise & the knock sensor starts going off, while if I run the damb thing even too lean most of them time the ks never goes off because the engine is running smooth & until real knock comes on the KS doesn't see it.

Correct my if Im wrong, but isn’t 128 blm zero? I mean the pcm doesn’t add or subtract fuel at this cell.
