ECM identification

Hello all. New to the site but share the motor madness.

I'll be converting my 96 LT1 OBDII car's ecm to an OBDI ecm. I'd like to know how to identify by part number sticker or otherwise, an OBDI ecm from a 95 year model? My plan is to try to locate a good used ecm from a wrecking yard to use / program for my 96. Does it need to be from a Camaro or Trans Am or will a ecm from an Impala LT1 also work? All help and advice is greatly appreciated!
