Ebtcm

Okay, we are attempting to swap an LT1 into a 4x4 1995 OBD1 S10. The problem we are running into is the deal with sensors and the EBTCM and which will work with ABS and whether or not traction control matters.

Okay, I have an EBTCM from my old Z28. It had ABS but not TC. Does this mean that the EBTCM is not capable of controlling the TC? Or does it mean that my car was just not equipped with the TC parts? Basically, is there a differences in the modules from a car with both traction control and anti-lock brakes from a module from a car with only ABS?

The S10 has ABS, but not TC. Therefore, if this module that I have is solely for vehicles with both TC and ABS, it wouldn't work on the truck, right? Or not?

Also what is the deal with the wheel speed sensors??

Did you actually read my questions? The problem is whether or not this can be used with the S10, which we don't know...

Have researched this same problem installing 95' LT1 into 96' S10 (4.3 eng OBII) with ABS. The TC signal is of no concern. Not for sure about 95' S10, due to it being OBI, but the 96' S10 ABS receives its signal and 12v pwr from the ecm. In order to utilize the 95 LT1 ecm to control the ABS, a relay must be used to pwr the ABS, with the relay being activated by the ecm ebtcm signal, with 12v pwr being switch to ABS motor. Or you can piggy back the S10 ecm to control the ABS and the LT1 ecm to control engine functions. Using the S10 ecm requires an vss signal from the LT1 ecm or split signal to both ecms. Your best bet is to look at a GM service manual diagram for the 95 S10 to verify the ecm inputs and outputs. Now if the 95 S10 ABS works like the 95 camaro, then the relay is already setup and all you have to do is hookup the ebtcm signal to the appropriate wire.

Hope this helps
