downloading 94 program through OBD2 plug?

Im working on a 94 TA and I need to download a PCM tune. My friend has tunercats and the 95 OBD2 connector, but not the GM1 connector that I need. My question is, can I temp. transplant my 94 PCM in his car, drop the tune via the 95 OBD2 connector he has without any issues? Keep in mind the 95 is an OBD1 still, with an OBD2 data link port. Thanks
