Does datamaster read "speed" wrong?

does datamaster read "speed" wrong? I'm running a 95 LT1. When in idle and in park, almost every time i stomp on the pedal i get spark retard. While this happens the speed will sometimes show 0-14mph even though i'm parked. Is this normal with datamaster?

Re: Does datamaster read "speed" wrong?

Datamaster's only reporting what it gets from the PCM.

Are you an A4 or M6? On my A4, with the Yank ST3500 stall, I could go 140 mph while standing still. On my '93 Suburban (4L80E trans), at very slow speeds, I can make the speedometer needle sweep up to 85 mph by goosing the gas. VSS's aren't perfect (that's what I'm getting at).

Frankly, I don't trust any of the dash gauges any more. Tach is off... fuel gauge is off... VSS can be funky...

Running a 700r4 with a 4l60e reluctor and vss on a 95 LT1 in an 86 TA. I'm in park though, why would it show a speedo reading when my speedo in the dash isn't moving either? Now i noticed the p/n switch in datamaster says i'm in drive all of the time even when i'm parked - could be a problem there. Possible bad pcm?

You can set the parameters for the speed sensor in the constants table. I8 use the parameters from Datamaster and plug them into the constants if it doesnt already update it.

In Datamaster, you can put in your gear, tire size and it will tell you pulses for stop and the multiplier for the tire rpm.

In Datamaster, did you set the car in the setup section. It will say FCAR Auto or something like that, that might be the problem.
