Differences between Tunercat and LT1Edit?

So besides the cost and non PCM lock what are the big differences, if any, between these 2?

Which do most prefer and why?

Sell the program to me, tell me what they offer please.

Thanks

Tunercat has a habbit of f'ing up PCM's...The first time I tuned with it, it fried mine...Used LT1 edit and wa freaking la...It worked

As of what they offer...check out the websites, they give a pretty good discription of what they offer...If not do a search on here, you will find plenty of info...THis question has been asked numerous times...

Hope I helped...

Honestly, I don't see how lt1_edit or tunercat would be different when it comes to uploading the tune to PCMs. I've programmed probably thousands of times with tunercat's utility and never had a failed program due to Tunercat. (I've had a few fails, but they were because of the PC and electricity)

I think Tunercat is a great program and considering the price you pay for it, you're getting it pretty much free. You can also tune as many cars as you want with it, as opposed to lt1_edit which only has one license and it is more expensive as well.

Currently, Tunercat has more things you can edit than lt1_edit. The only drawback I see with Tunercat is that it doesn't automatically rescale the shift points with a gear change on A4 cars. Everything else is great.

I use both lt1_edit and Tunercat.

Ion, thanks for the clarification. Would you recommend TC for a N00B programmer? I'm currently looking around for some tutorials on it so that I go in semi-knowledgable.

Definetely... and if you don't have a cable already, get one from www.akmcables.com. The crimp style one he sells will work just fine.
