Deleting emissions

If I have the emissions deleted out of the new chip I am having made for my 89 do I have to remove the EGR and install a blank as well as all the other emissions items immediately or can I do it over time? Thanks

You can leave it all there, it won't affect anything. EGR works off of an electrically operated vacuum solenoid. Basically, the computer won't turn the solenoid on any more. So the EGR valve will just sit there closed.
