datamaster software

I am getting tunercat for christmas and was wondering what advantage having this would give me as far as tuning the car. Do they have a website and how much is it?

www.ttspowersystems.com

You need some flavor of logging software or your just shooting in the dark. Get the driviblity first, than worry about pe mode.

damn 90 for tuner cat, 95 for the aldl cable and 220 for the datamaster... wow, thats a lot for tuning your car, do you think its worth getting more than tuner cat? I already have an aldl cable so would that take some price off the 220 for the datamaster because I think it says thats in cluded in that price?

Yes it is money, but well spent.

Now you will be able to make mods to your can and then your computer. Don't let some shop somewhere who has never seen you car run do it for you.

You should use a dyno with a wideband for tuneing in PE mode (wot)

Yup, see if you can find a dyno shop that's done a few f-bods, they may be able to help with tune. 3 pulls in a hour, no sweat.

Get it from Andrew....its great software and you need it to log runs so you can tune. By the way ...you can download the trial and get 20 free runs....give it a try.

I think I will. By the way how much do you guys usually pay to tune your car on the dyno and how long was it before you were confident to tune it at all? I am learning and know some things and figured id tune a bolt on car for drivability first, is that the way most of you went? Thanks for the help!

I read everything I could find on the web (lots) over and over, took notes. I change one thing at a time, and after a few flashes, felt very confident about it. One of the keys is using datalogging so after a change in tune you can compare logs.

I dont see anything in your sig that would really require tuning, other than maybe fan settings for the 160* tstat. You usually dont have drivablity problems till you do major mods such as a cam. Anyway, dont change anything unless your sure of what it does and always save a backup for the file your changing so you can go back if you need to.

When you change cams, what parameters should you change when tuning the computer? Does tunercat have a specific table where you enter the specs on the cam? How would you set the computer so that the car can idle right.
