Datamaster Rpms Variances(T.C. Adjustments)

Well I am trying to get my shift points dialed in and am a little confused with datamaster. I elimnated the rev limiter, and had shift points set at 6400 and 43 mph. The car would rev off the tach before shifting so I went back to to pits and look at the log. Engine RPM at the highest recording was 6576, but rpm16 says 6700 Yet the motor souded like it hit the rev limiter. I think it would be the other way around due to converter slip but any way which is right? I want to shift at 6700. I think I would just adjust the hot kickdown and kickdown rpm threshholds, is this right?
