Datamaster issue

Hey, I just got datamaster up and running, and it logged about 20 seconds and then stopped communicating with the car computer. It did this twice, and I am wondering if this is a common problem. I am running the AKM cable, and my laptop has a serial connection that the cable connects into.

Thanks,
Chris

Re: Datamaster issue

Typically, issues like that I have experience have to do with the car. Try it on another car and see if the problem persists.

I had the same problem. When I first installed it it was fine. Now it will only record the last 15 or 20 sec before it is stopped. WTF? I want to use it on MY car not a diffrent one. Is there a fix for this??????

Plenty more than 7kb which is all it would record.

Re: Datamaster issue

did you disable everything? no internet security, no ethernet, no running programs in the lower right corner, no infrared ports, etc?

Re: Datamaster issue

Do you have it removed from it's charger while logging? IE running off battery.

Re: Datamaster issue

Some people use power inverters with their laptops (like me). Have you entertained the idea that your serial port might be kaput?

Re: Datamaster issue

I've had this happen several times to me.

Make sure you have the IR port on your laptop disabled.
