Cruise control doesnt work- Does it go Through VATs box under Glovebox?

My cruise control stopped working around the same time my Vehicle anti Theft system locked me out of the car.. So i ripped the glove box out and bypassed the vats... and by bypassing the vats I bypassed the clutch switch.

So I can start the car without the clutch in..
If i can start the car without the clutch being in then the clutch switch goes through the VATS system. Thats a given.

So then if it goes through the VATS and the clutch is part of the cruise control system making it turn off when u press in the clutch then could that be my problem?

I changed the cruise control box next to the air filter.
I changed the cruise cable
3rd brake lights are fine

I have no changed the cruise switch on the turn signal lever.

Yep. If you by-passed the clutch the cruise control wont work.

I skimmed over the schematics and don't see where vats has anything to do with cruise.

It sounds like your clutch switch may be stuck open. Test the switch and get back with me. I have the manual here and may be able to help.

Later, Mike.
