cooling fans won't kick on

cooling fans won't kick on

My fans won't kick on, any ideas why????

Check the fuse block under the hood. There will be a fuse called FANS/ACTR it's like 10AMP

Then you can start checking the relays if the fuse doesn't work.

The cooling fans could be a couple of things. First, it could be a fuse. Second, flip the ac on for 5 seconds then flip it off. You should then here the fans running.

what does it mean if the fans don't kick on after the AC is on for 5 seconds?????

Hey what I meant was that on 1993s the cooling fans will not come one until like 275 degrees, unless you turn on the ac because it uses the cooling fans. I dont know what year your car is but that was my first thought because I have the same problem. But if you dont have a 93 then it could be a relay or a fuse, or your fans just crapped out but I doubt that is what happened.

I have a 95 z28, the fans just won't kick on, I'll have to check the fuse box.
