Re: Computer Tuning Issues

To read and flash the PCM with Winflash no definition file is needed.

I would remove the program then re-download it and re-install it. If it still is acting crazy I would contact tunercat and see what their thoughts are.

You can find a program called pcmread or pcm prog or something like that and that can read a file from your PCM, you could try and see if that works if it does i can send you another copy of winflash

Re: Computer Tuning Issues

Hmm.... I've had errors reading in the past, seems when readings there is a lot more problems then writing LOL.

What worked for me is another cable, whats weird is that swapping cables worked but both cables are good regardless.

I recommend turning the fans off, take the fans relays out, and disconnect the charcoal canister purge solenoid as it ticks while tunning. Try this.

Do you know of a website where I can begin my journey to find one of these programs? Can I use PCM Prog to put the .bin file that Brian Sent me onto my PCM?

If none of this stuff doesn't work, I might end up just getting a cable from AKM. I was afraid it was the cable from the beginning, but I wanted to make sure because I hate wasting money.

As far as the fan relays, are you talking about the wires that go to the PCM for the fans? I have a manual fan switch already, so I can just undo the connections correct? Also, Where is the charcoal canister purge solenoid?

Thanks for all the assistance guys, It is most definately appreciated.

Re: Computer Tuning Issues

Update:

Made all of the changes that people suggested.. as well as checked over a few things that the man at Tuner Cat suggested me to check via email.

And now I'm back to square one. "Error: PCM Not Responding"
