A computer ? about engine swaping

I was thinking of taking the iron LS1 block from a truck, and the majority of the parts from an F-Body/Corvette LS1. Now, do I HAVE to use that computer, or can I use an OBD 1 from an LT1 car? Also, which is better? I heard that only one of 'em you can like, tune on the fly. Input anyone?

Late!

You can't mix an LT1 PCM with a true LS1 style engine. The ignition system is totally different, because of the LT1 using a conventional (although unusual in the placement) distributor and a single coil, and the LS1 using separate cam and crank sensors and the 8 coils in direct fire mode. Can't think of how you would bridge the gap, because the LT1 PCM simply can not function without the optical pulse signals from the OptiSpark distributor.
