Codes programmed out

Hey guys, got a few codes programmed out of the computer to pass emissions...i went the other day and failed. I am looking at the prinout right now...for EGR, AIR (which i got programmed out) and for the Rear O2's (which have O2 simms on them) they are reading "not ready". Is this because i recently unplugged the batter (~30 miles ago) or will the codes always come up as "not ready" when the computer is scanned. Any help is greatly...greatly appreciated.

Re: Codes programmed out

Unplugging the battery will clear the ready status for sure.

But on the EGR and AIR, I'm not sure if you'll get a ready if it fails the test. Even though you turn the lights and such off, it will still fail the tests when the PCM runs them I believe.

For the rear o2 sensors, assuming you just put simms on them and didn't disable them in the PCM, you're problem there is likely the recent disconnection of the battery.

Re: Codes programmed out

An inspector here in nc said that 2 "not ready" codes are allowed for cars older than 01. And only one for 01+. Not ready means there's no communication, like when items are deleted from pcm.
