Looks like it would work well. Buyer beware: At the bottom in small print it just happens to mention that there is no battery or AC adapter with the laptop. You would have to shell out another $150 or so to obtain both of those new.

 

Actually the battery is 50.00 and the power supply is 20.00 on ebay.

 

Its OK but the HD is very small and has little to no memory but for $50 you might be able to afford a new HD and some more memory. I would personally go with a 600 series at least though and I have found the IBMs work great for tuning!

 

I have a 380Z just for my car with ME 96 mb of ram 233mhz 3.8 gig hd.
It has a comm port and also a usb which is a plus if you want to connect other stuff like cordless mouses or storage drives.
I paid 200.00 for it locally from a pc dealer and got a new battery.
Older IBMs are great for tuning and monitoring.
It sits in my car all the time.
My newer toshiba with DVD/CD-R hardly ever leaves the coffee table.

 

Here's a great deal for an IBM with a com port and it even has a usb.
For 90.00 with AC and battery including shipping someone can't go wrong here.
